METRO STATION 1905

2-bedroom flat, Moscow

Square: 53.5 m²

Ceilings: 2,7 m

Status: Implemented,  2018

Bright and incredibly cosy 2-room flat for a young couple. The combination of light grey tones with warm shades of linen and natural wood, restrained modern classics, unobtrusive patterns and accents - this is the perfect recipe for a home where it is so good to escape from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Floor plan.

The flat had to be planned with an allowance for the arrival of a baby in the family. While waiting for the baby and while he is small, the rooms will be divided into a living room with glass doors and a shared bedroom. In time, the bedroom will be converted into a nursery and the parents will move into the living room. The issue of light from the hallway into the living room is solved by closing a dense curtain, which is hidden in a niche near the wardrobe in the living room. The glass partition in combination with the curtain does not insulate sound well enough. But this is what the owners decided to sacrifice for the atmosphere.

The flat has a linear orientation with a characteristic long and narrow corridor between the rooms and the kitchen. In this inevitable corridor we have organised a spacious storage area in the form of built-in wardrobes. The deep grey cupboards look like a continuation of the walls and due to this they do not visually pressurise. And the high glass doors with a transom, almost the width of the living room, are a special highlight of the project. There is always daylight in the corridor, the flat seems more spacious, and these doors have the spirit of old mansions.
